The Retail Logistics & Innovation Lab
The mission of the Lab is to implement cutting-edge research in the field of logistics management and innovation developments in the retail industry. This is enabled by a close collaboration of Technical University of Darmstadt with REWE Logistik as the logistics arm of the REWE Group Germany. Further institutions involved are Politecnico di Milano (School of Management) and the University of Göttingen (Chair for Marketing and Innovation Systems). Further partners are involved on an evolving basis and also further industry partners are invited to joint Lab activities.
Started in 2022, already first successful events can be documented, such as publications, the BVL Award for the best ISSL presentation 2023 (Link) and a best student paper award finalist nomination at the Annual Meeting 2023 of the Academy of Management Boston (Link). The Lab team invites all researchers and retail experts to participate in the innovation and development topics addressed by the lab work. Two workshops have been conducted in November 2022 (Göttingen) and July 2023 (Darmstadt) with national and international participants from academia and business practice.
