Models and Methods for an Active Ageing workforce: International Academy
The Institute of Production and Supply Chain Management received a research grant from the European Commission for the research project “Models and Methods for an Active Ageing workforce: International Academy – MAIA". Funding was provided from the funding program H2020-MSCA-RISE-2019.
MAIA was a European research project concerned with current strategic international challenges: the efficient integration of ageing workers into future production systems.
The project aimed to foster the collaboration in research by means of networking, exchange programs, and joint actions in the dissemination of research. Seven European universities were involved in the project. In addition to our institute, teams from Italy, France, and Slovenia, as well as six universities outside the EU, for example from the US, Japan, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Canada took part in the project.
The project combined various fields of expertise from the involved teams and enabled the sharing and expansion of knowledge in the course of an international interdisciplinary exchange of personnel. The consortium provided a one-of-a-kind possibility to develop production systems attuned to the needs of an ageing workforce. Research contributions were published in the fields of mechanical engineering, robotics, human/social sciences, and economics.
The program took place between 2020 and 2025 and a total funding of about 1 million Euro.
